  17. several months, and you have been SO nice in your
  18. answers.

  20. Nonetheless, I'm still getting knocked off all the time.

  23. finally get tar.gz files downloaded, even though
  24. it will take three or four "redial" commands.)

  34. Anyway, if I were to give you (via telephone) my
  35. id and password for panix.com (uses pc's and netbsd plus
  36. who-knows-what communication front-ends), would you
  37. be willing to figure out what actually works best
  38. for their dialin?

  40.  By the way, everyone else there (on their shell-acct
  41. service) seems to use pc hardware and maybe also m$
  42. software, and NO ONE BUT ME has any difficulty.

  44. (Worked PERFECTLY(!) when I was using netcom's shell
  45. service, but then earthlink closed it down, and
  46. all of where were near NYC went to panix).

  51. no problem for me, since I'm in the city a couple
  52. of days each week ("concerned friends of wbai").
